For example, you are looking for a vendor with Gujarati or Amharic experience. In this case, you are mostly looking to see if a DTP vendor can work with language-specific fonts and paragraph attributes that can guarantee you correct rendering of these languages. (If such languages are blindely handled as most common onces, your linguist will most likely say that the files are corrupt.)
If you are looking to working with Right-to-Left languages (Arabic, Hebrew) you'd probably want to check if your vendor understands the specifics of these markets, the flips, and the text orientation, and is able to work with Right-to-Left languages at all.
